分散配置された計算機上に実装されたプログラムを協調動作させることにより、原子力プラントの耐力シミュレーションや核融合プラズマの制御シミュレーションなど、大規模かつ複雑な統合シミュレーションを可能とする枠組みについて紹介する。シミュレーション技術の進展に伴い多様なシミュレーション手法を統合することで、より精緻なシミュレーションが実行可能となってきている。しかしながら、個々のシミュレーション手法を実装したコードを組合せ、実行制御しながら動作させることは、科学者にとって大きな負担となっている。われわれは統合シミュレーションにおける個々の要素プログラムの実行パターンが、ワークフロー型,パイプライン型などに分類できることに着目し、それらのパターンを設定ファイルに記述するだけで要素プログラムを連携動作可能とする機能を実現することで、既存コードを大幅に修正することなく連携動作可能とする枠組みを開発した。そして、核融合プラズマのシミュレーションに適用し、開発した枠組みが想定したシナリオ通りにシミュレーションを連携実行させることができることを示した。

We developed Grid-enabled application of the 3D virtual plant vibration simulator on Simple Orchestration Application Framework (SOAF). The vibration simulator is an analysis system to analyze seismic response of a whole digitalized nuclear power plant. Components of a power plant are treated in hierarchical manner so that large components are grouped at primary level and small components such as pipes at secondary level. Boundary condition data are transferred from the primary level to the secondary level. SOAF provides function to enable users to simply define the data transfer in pipelined scenario which is impossible to realize using the existing workflow tools. In this workshop, we demonstrate the efficiency of pipelined scenario and usability of SOAF confirmed by the analysis of the High Temperature Engineering Test Reactor of JAEA using the application.
